Ksenija Garbacenka began her journey at Plus Pack in January 2016 as a Project Manager, working closely on the design of customer-specific packaging solutions. Right from the beginning, Ksenija’s work intersected with sustainability, innovation, and collaboration across departments. Her growing passion for sustainability and quality aligned naturally with the company’s evolving strategy.
“Over time, my interest in sustainability, compliance, and quality grew – which also became a more important part of Plus Pack’s overall strategy.”

As Ksenija's interests broadened beyond individual projects, her vision and capabilities were recognised, revealing her potential for larger strategic roles. She was given more responsibility, and over time, moved into a role with broader strategic impact. Plus Pack’s dynamic and collaborative culture provided an environment for this growth.

Ksenija’s Role Today
Leading Sustainability and Quality Across Plus Pack
Today, Ksenija holds the position of Group Sustainability and Quality Manager. She leads sustainability and quality initiatives across Plus Pack, setting the direction for how the company approaches key strategic areas like circular economy, carbon footprint reduction, and responsible material choices.
“We now have an integrated sustainability strategy, where we work purposefully with CO2 reduction, design for recycling, and circular economy.”
Her role spans collaboration with various departments, turning sustainability from a support function into a business driver that informs everything from packaging design to compliance. Ksenija’s work is no longer limited to individual projects - it now shapes Plus Pack’s long-term impact and purpose.
Evolving into Leadership Balancing
Strategy, People, and Purpose
Ksenija's shift into leadership came with new responsibilities, not just to set direction, but to foster a culture where people thrive. Her project management background proved invaluable in handling complex cross-functional efforts, but she also had to evolve her leadership skills by learning how to delegate, motivate, and lead with empathy.
“One of the biggest challenges has been balancing between staying involved and letting the team take ownership. I’ve learned how important it is to be authentic and empathetic as a leader.”
Ksenija takes inspiration from her own leaders from Plus Pack who supported her development with a blend of trust, challenge, and accessibility.
“I’ve had leaders who gave me the freedom to take responsibility and grow, while being available for support and feedback. That has taught me the importance of creating a culture where people dare to take initiative and learn from experience.”
Ksenija’s progression at Plus Pack has mirrored the company’s shift toward a more strategic and structured approach to sustainability. What was once a supporting function is now central to the business, driving everything from packaging design to material selection and compliance. Ksenija’s shift from Project Manager to Group Sustainability and Quality Manager is a reflection of both Ksenija’s strategic vision as well as the support Plus Pack can provide.
