At Plus Pack we have ambitions to reduce CO2 emissions as much as possible. Our goal is to be CO2 neutral in our own operations by 2024.
We must act now
to reach our CO2 reduction goals
Today’s society requires action to reduce CO2. Therefore, as a manufacturing company we want to do our part to deliver CO2 reductions. We believe that we must all work towards the goal of the European Commission to reduce carbon emissions by 55% and the Danish goal of 70% before 2030 and take the steps needed to reach EU’s ultimate goal of being carbon neutral by 2050.
This means, that manufacturing companies must focus on shifting to green and renewable energy sources and transform their business to circularity. Working on CO2 reductions is a collective task, and it can, indeed, be challenging. New procedures and processes must be created, implemented and used in daily work.
What are we doing
to meet our goals?
At Plus Pack we have ambitions to reduce CO2 emissions as much as possible. Our goal is to be CO2 neutral in our own operations by 2024. We have tested our way of working with CO2 reductions by participating in a project “Climate-fit Manufacturing Companies” run by the Confederation of Danish Industry (Dansk Industri), The Danish Industry Foundation (Industriens Fond) and Viegand Maagøe. Viegand Maagøe is a Danish based organization that provides consulting services in climate, energy and sustainability.
Several colleagues have participated in the project– from Finance, Quality, Purchase and Marketing – in order for us all to be able to fully understand and actively drive the CO2 reduction agenda going forward.
The purpose of
climate-fit manufacturing companies
The purpose of the project ‘Climate-Fit Production Company’ is to aid companies in calculating their CO2 emissions and consequently make a reduction plan. When quantifying and reporting CO2 emissions the international standard of the Greenhous Gas Protocol (GHG) is utilized. This records the different CO2 emissions in scopes 1, 2 and 3.
Due to the scopes containing information from different business areas, the project required a broad collaboration across departments at Plus Pack. This led Plus Pack’s employees towards further understanding and involvement in CO2 reductions.

Although this project did take time and resources it was worth the time spent as understanding CO2 emissions are necessary for further improvement. After involving ourselves in this project we are reassured that we are heading in the right direction."

How will we continue to work towards
the reduction of CO2 emissions?
After recording and understanding Plus Pack’s qualitative data we are taking the next step by joining Science Based Targets initiatives (SBTi). SBTi is a broad collaboration with a variety of organisations including the United Nations Global Compact. They drive climate action in the private sector and are expressing the importance of reducing CO2 emissions. Plus Pack is ambitious in our reduction of CO2 and are doing everything we can to become net zero for real in 2024.
