Placing circularity at the core.
For good.
With material efficiency, recycled content and packaging designed for recycling as key focus areas, we consider circularity throughout our work – from product development and procurement to marketing and sales.
We support the principles of UN Sustainable Development Goal 12, “Responsible Consumption and Production”. By addressing specific challenges related to the way we design and manufacture our products, we continually look for ways to “do more and better with less”.
We measure our greenhouse gas emissions and work with energy efficiency and other documented initiatives to identify and reduce emissions across our operations and value chain.
Scope 1, 2, and 3
emissions
To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, we invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy at our company sites while working with partners and suppliers to identify opportunities relating to Scope 3 emissions.
This includes:
- 4,096 solar panels supplying 30% of our annual energy*
- 18% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions from 2021 to 2022*
- Increasing the use of recycled materials where product requirements allow
- Lightweighting selected products to reduce material use
- Minimising production scrap to reduce material use
- Optimising supplier-to-customer transportation
Science
Based Targets
We’re in this for good. That’s why we have committed ourselves to reduce scope 1 and 2 emissions 50% by 2030 from a 2018 base year, and to reduce our scope 3 emissions. The objectives have been approved by The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) through a target validation process for small and medium-sized enterprises, driving ambitious climate actions.
The SBTi enables businesses worldwide to set ambitious emissions reduction targets aligned with the latest climate science – focusing on achieving a 50% reduction by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050.
PLUS PACK PROUD MEMBER OF
ALUMINIUM STEWARDSHIP INITIATIVE
Plus Pack has been approved member of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI), a global non-profit organisation that sets standards for responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium. By joining ASI we take yet another step in our dedication towards a circular economy.
With ASI we can ensure aluminium standards are met, to continue to transform the packaging industry for good.
“The Science Based Targets initiative marks an important step in our Circular 2024 strategy. Now the hard work starts to deliver real impact on our scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. This includes investments in renewable energy, reducing the carbon footprint of our raw materials and the introduction of new circular products.”
