Environmental aspects

of plastic

Plastic is a valuable resource with diverse applications in food packaging solutions. However, there is a common misconception that plastic food packaging should be avoided.

Plus Pack proud contributor to

European Plastics Pact

The European Plastics Pact, established in 2020, aims to foster collaboration and innovation across borders and industries to accelerate the transition to a circular plastics economy in Europe. This initiative brings together companies and organizations from diverse sectors and countries to collectively work towards achieving its objectives. Plus Pack is proud to be one of the 147 companies and 21 countries that have pledged their commitment to the European Plastics Pact. The pact is built upon four key targets:

  • Target 1: Reusability and recyclability
  • Target 2: Responsible use of plastics
  • Target 3: Collection, sorting and recycling
  • Target 4: Use of recycled plastics

(Circular) plastics for

food containers

Placing circularity at the core of our operations, we prioritize circular practices throughout the entire lifecycle of plastic packaging for food – from product development and procurement to marketing and sales. We are committed to supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly goal 12, "Responsible Consumption and Production," by addressing global challenges in the design and manufacturing of circular plastic packaging for food.

Through continuous innovation, we strive to 'do more and better with less,' ensuring that our plastic packaging for food meets the highest standards of circularity. Furthermore, we are dedicated to lowering our CO2 emissions, working towards achieving net zero emissions to contribute positively to the environment.

Plastic Reduction Efforts in Denmark:

A circular Path Forward

Plus Pack actively collaborates with Dansk Industri and the Danish Design Guide to lead plastic reduction efforts in Denmark. Through this partnership, we prioritize innovative solutions and sustainable practices aimed at minimizing plastic usage while maintaining product integrity. By aligning with Dansk Industri, we leverage industry expertise and collective action to drive meaningful change in plastic reduction Denmark initiatives.

Additionally, our collaboration with the Danish Design Guide ensures that our packaging solutions meet the highest standards of functionality, design, and environmental responsibility, contributing to plastic reduction efforts in Denmark. Together, we work towards achieving a circular economy where plastics are used responsibly and efficiently, advancing plastic reduction Denmark objectives and fostering a more circular future.

Denmark plastic recycling rate

A key indicator

In Denmark, the plastic recycling rate is steadily increasing, reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of sustainable practices. Recycled plastic food packaging plays a significant role in this effort, offering a solution to reduce environmental impact. It's crucial to understand that plastic itself isn't the issue; rather, it's about selecting the right type of plastic and ensuring proper recycling processes.

The Danish Design Guide for Reuse and Recycling provides valuable insights into Denmark's plastic recycling principles, such as prioritizing materials that are easily recyclable and designing products for disassembly. By using resources like this guide, Denmark continues to make strides in Denmark plastic recycling, paving the way for a more circular future

Plastic waste

as a ressource

Plastic waste holds tremendous potential as a resource, particularly in the context of waste to plastic initiatives. In Europe, efforts to recycle plastic packaging are gaining momentum, with an increasing focus on transforming waste to plastic into valuable materials. The recycling of plastic packaging in Europe has seen significant progress, with a growing emphasis on circular economy principles.

By harnessing the power of waste to plastic technologies, plastic waste can be repurposed into new products, reducing environmental impact and conserving valuable resources. This innovative approach not only addresses the challenges of plastic waste management but also contributes to building a more circular future for generations to come.
